Our Grand Plans for 2011

In my last post, I mentioned some great plans were in the works for 2011. Well, the reason for those great plans is that John got a new job that he starts in March. He'll be part of a 2 yr management training program in a division of the USDA. He'll go to Portland for training, then out to a field office for up to 14 weeks. Since we homeschool, we'll be able to go with him. After the last 8 months, I am ready for a change and am really looking forward to this!!

So in an effort to get ready to be gone for long periods of time, we'll be finishing some projects up around the house, decluttering so we come back to a nice clean house and doing what we can to travel light, but have everything we need.

In November sometime, I stumbled upon jill gg's good life for less which led to finding Kendi Everyday's 30 for 30 challenge. I'm going to attempt something similar, except for a longer period of time. Packing 30 items and mixing and matching them for the time we are away. I may buy a few things to switch it up while we are gone, which they don't do, but we'll see.  I'm also going to use this principle when helping the girls pack. I'm constantly amazed at the amount of clothes that they own! Lol So, our first experiment with it will start in March.

Since we'll be traveling a lot, I'm going to share here about our trips to different cities, the places we go while there, restaurants we go to, and hotels that we stay at. Should be interesting! First up, I'll be sharing about our upcoming trip to L.A. and Disneyland as I plan it and after we get back.

Oh and look for updates on house projects! I'm hoping to get the bedrooms painted and my table done before March so we can at least use it a bit.

:)
